METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SEALING BETWEEN ROTARY TURBINE SHAFTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal assembly 60 for a gas turbine engine comprising a first rotary shaft 42 and a second rotary shaft 44.

SOLUTION: The seal assembly comprises a brush seal 70 and a plurality of seal projections 72 extending outward from the brush seal. The brush seal is connected to the first rotary shaft in the sealing condition so that the plurality of seal projections are brought in contact with the second rotary shaft to seal between the first and the second rotary shafts. The brush seal 70 is rotated together with the first rotary shaft 42.
