<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a vehicle pedal supporting structure capable of assuring a stable driver protection performance when a predetermined high load acts on the front part of a vehicle and further capable of assuring rigidity of a pedal when the pedal is usually operated. <P>SOLUTION: The upper end of a brake pedal 10 is extended upward and rearward. This extended part is formed into a curved pressure accepting part 40. In turn, the rear end of a pedal bracket 16 is extended upward and rearward of the pressure accepting part 40, so that a pressing portion 42 is formed. A guide pin 48 acting as a wedge movably arranged at a guide groove 46 of a guide 34 is inserted into an inlet side of a clearance 44 between the pressure accepting part 40 and the pressing portion 42. Accordingly, when a predetermined high load acts on the front part of a vehicle, the pedal bracket 18 is displaced rearward without showing any plastic deformation, so that the guide pin 48 bites into the clearance 44 to cause the pressure accepting part 40 to be pressed downward while a reaction force is taken by the pressing portion 42. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
