PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforced concrete pier capable of efficiently controlling the occurrence of buckling when a large bending moment acts on axial reinforcing bars in the vicinity of the lower end of the pier and in the vicinity of the upper end of the Rahmen pier , at the same time, facilitating the arrangement of hoop ties and intermediate restraining reinforcing bars. SOLUTION: The axial reinforcing bars 11 in the vertical direction along the side, the lateral hoop ties 12 surrounding the axial reinforcing bars 11 and the intermediate restraining reinforcing bars 13 connecting the hoop ties 12 around the side opposed to the pier with each other are arranged to the pier 1. Each axial reinforcing bar 11 has an oval section, the axial reinforcing bars 11 are arranged so that the oval short axes becomes parallel with the side of the pier 1 to make bending rigidity of each axial reinforcing bar 11 in the direction at a right angle to the side larger. For that purpose, when the large bending moment acts on the cross section of the pier by inertia force or the like in the horizontal direction in the case of an earthquake, and the buckling of the axial reinforcing bars 11 caused by swelling them to the outside is controlled to enable the spacing of the arrangement of the hoop ties and the intermediate retaining bars to greatly set.
