PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a crystalline higherα-olefin copolymer good in compatibility with a thermoplastic resin, lubricating oil, fuel oil or wax, blendability with an inorganic filler and secondary processability, and narrow in melting and crystallization temperature ranges, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The crystalline higherα-olefin copolymer is obtained by copolymerization of two or more≥10C higherα-olefins or of one or more≥10C higherα-olefins and one or more other olefins. This higherα-olefin copolymer meets the following requirements: (1) the content of higherα-olefin units is≥50 mol%, (2) the melting point(Tm) is 20-100°C, which is observed based on a melting endothermic curve obtained using a differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) by holding the copolymer in a nitrogen atmosphere at 190°C for 5 min followed by temperature descending at a rate of 5°C/min to -10°C, holding the copolymer at -10°C for 5 min and then temperature ascending at a rate of 10°C/min to 190°C, and (3) a single peak X1 is observed, which is derived from side chain crystallization observed at 15deg<2θ<30deg in the wide angle X-ray scattering intensity distribution.
