PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound suitable as an electron transport material in an organic electrophotographic photoreceptor and the electrophotographic photoreceptor using the same and having higher sensitivity than that of the conventional photoreceptor. SOLUTION: A naphthalenecarboxylic acid derivative is represented by formula (1) (wherein, R is a group selected from the group consisting of a hydrogen atom, a substituted or an unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or an unsubstituted cycloalkyl group, a substituted or an unsubstituted aralkyl group or a substituted or an unsubstituted aryl group; and A denotes a substituted or an unsubstituted alkylene group or a substituted or an unsubstituted cycloalkylene group).
