A suspension of organic corpuscles, e.g. blood corpuscles or blood cellular components, is kept substantially unchanged as to volume and form of the corpuscles in addition to their numerical stability, by dilution of the suspension with an aqueous solution of (I) a halogen salt of a strong base and a halogen acid, (2) a sulphate salt of a strong base and sulphuric acid, and (3) a weak acid, the strength of the solution with respect to the three components being (1) 0.0171M-0.342M, (2) 0.0141M- 0.704M, and (3) 0.000167N-0.00666N. A specific solution contains 1-20 g. of NaCl, 2-100 g of Na 2 SO 4 , and 10-400 mg of acetic acid per 1000 ml of distilled water. |
