PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of improving building foundation ground, which suppresses a leaching amount of ground contaminating material such as hexavalent chromium to a value below an environmental limit value, by shielding water permeation into a ground improved stratum. SOLUTION: According to the method, a hole 5 is excavated in a soil improvement area in building foundation ground 10, and first and second rolled strata 11, 12 obtained by rolling backfill soil having a hardener added thereto, are formed in the excavated hole. Then an impermeable stratum 13 for shielding water permeation into the rolled strata 11, 12, is laminated on the rolled strata, and a foundation base 21 is set on the impermeable stratum 13.
