PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which is adaptable to both of a still image high in resolution and a moving image lower in resolution than that of the still image. SOLUTION: The imaging device provided with a lens 11 and a CCD 12 is provided with: a horizontal pixel input part 13 for reading a pixel value from photodetective elements of the number not smaller than a required resolution in a horizontal direction from the CCD; a detection part 16 of energy not smaller than the required resolution in the horizontal direction for detecting the energy of a frequency not smaller than the required resolution in the horizontal direction from the pixel value obtained from the horizontal pixel input part 13 about each of the lens 11 and the CCD 12 in the case of varying an interval between them; and a lens position control part 22 for controlling the interval between the lens 11 and the CCD 12 so as to suppress the energy not smaller than the required resolution in the horizontal direction based on the detection result of the detection part 16.
