PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colorimetric analysis method having a reliable analysis value and a simplified reaction system. SOLUTION: An analysis object is oxidized by oxidation-reduction enzyme, and a reducing coloring agent is reduced and colored at that time, and the degree of coloring is analyzed, to thereby perform a qualitative or quantitative analysis of the analysis object. The coloring agent is a tetrazolium salt having a mediator function, and, for example, MTT, Nitro-TB, INT or the like are used therefor.
