<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cleaner utilizing gas-liquid contact, which can efficiently clean air by regenerating lowering in the solubility of a treatment liquid. <P>SOLUTION: The air cleaner comprises a gas-liquid contact means to reduce the amount of contaminants in air by the treatment with treatment liquid by bringing air into contact with the treatment liquid, at least one of an air feed means or an air suction means to take in air and introduce the air into the gas-liquid contact means, and an oxidizing means to oxidize contaminants dissolved in the treatment liquid. An ozone generation unit is provided as the oxidizing means. The air cleaner further comprises a residual ozone treatment device to treat ozone discharged after the treatment liquid is oxidized, a residual ozone collection passage to collect ozone, an ozone detection unit to detect ozone discharged outside the air cleaner, and a person-sensing unit to detect presence/absence of any person. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
