<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly adjust dot positions recorded by a recording head in response to an image recording form to enhance operationality, with respect to an image recording apparatus which makes image recording both by an instruction of a host PC and by reading out an image stored in equipment connected to the apparatus or in a memory according to an instruction from an operation panel. <P>SOLUTION: A pattern which is recorded on a recording medium according to adjusting items when a position adjustment is made by the instruction from the PC, is made different from when the position adjustment is made by an instruction of the operation panel.
