<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a smooth image having ≤0.25 average graininess which is equal to or superior to that of an image by offset printing, in an image forming apparatus using electrophotographic method in which a toner image is formed on an image carrier by developing with powder toner, the toner image is transferred and then is fixed by heating to record the image on a transfer material. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a toner image is formed on a photoreceptor (image carrier) 10 by developing in a developing device 12 using powder toner, the toner image is transferred by a transfer device 13, and then is fixed by heating by a fixing device 16, to and the image is recorded on a transfer material 22. The average graininess, defined as the average of graininess in a halftone part of an image with 40 to 80 average luminosity is controlled to ≤0.25, preferably ≤0.15, and the glossiness is controlled to ≤8%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
