<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve recording by making use of an optical memory element comprising an aggregate of nanoparticles having an intensity of fluorescence increased by irradiation with exciting light and by stably controlling an increase of the intensity of the fluorescence. <P>SOLUTION: An optical memory element comprising an aggregate of luminescent nanoparticles having a function to increase its intensity of fluorescence by irradiation with exciting light is irradiated with exciting light at an irradiation intensity controlled according to information to be recorded, and the intensity of the fluorescence of the aggregate of the luminescent nanoparticles within an area irradiated with the exciting light is selectively increased to a saturation value corresponding to the controlled irradiation intensity, whereby recording is achieved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
