<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED which can be easily manufactured and exhibits high emission efficiency while suppressing the reflection of light from the LED on the surface of a lens. <P>SOLUTION: The LED 10 includes an LED element 12 which is covered with the lens 20 made of resin. A fine structure 22 for preventing reflection is formed on the surface of the lens 20, allowing the light emitted from the LED element 12 to be radiated outside after passing through the fine structure 22 for preventing reflection. External light irradiated on the LED 10 from the outside is also passed through the fine structure 22 for preventing reflection before entering the lens 20. A refractive index is continuously changed from the lens 20 to an air layer by means of the fine structure 22 for preventing reflection, and thereby the reflection of the light emitted from the LED element 12 and of the light irradiated on the LED 10 from the outside can be prevented, resulting in improvements of the emission efficiency of the LED and the suppression of an interference by emitted light and reflected light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
