摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card and an IC card reader and writer where the occupancy situation and the free space of the memory of a multiple application IC card are presented to a user with a visible means without preparing a special display device for display.

SOLUTION: The IC card corresponding to multiple application stores a plurality of application programs in a rewritable nonvolatile memory to realize a plurality of functions by switching and carrying out a plurality of applications. The IC card is provided with a memory situation display part for displaying the memory occupancy situation and the free space of the applications recorded in the nonvolatile memory on at least one of its front surface and rear surface. The IC card reader and writer displays the amount of memory occupancy on the memory situation display part.
