<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to, if any anomaly, such as overtemperature, overcurrent, and overvoltage, occurs in a semiconductor switching element constituting the output stage of a motor drive unit, interrupt power supply to the motor drive unit and thereby prevent abnormal overheat and protect the output stage. <P>SOLUTION: The motor drive unit 20 drives motors 2 and 3 for driving a fan for cooling a radiator and a fan for cooling a capacitor by PWM control. If the anomaly detection portion 29 in the motor drive unit detects any of overtemperature, overcurrent, and overvoltage in semiconductor switching elements (e.g. FETs 25 and 26) constituting the output stage, the anomaly detection portion supplies anomaly information to a main control unit 10 through a data communication portion 22. When the power supply interruption control portion 14 in the main control unit 10 receives the anomaly information, it drives and opens the relay contact 312 in a power supply interruption unit 30 to interrupt power supply from a battery 4 to the motor drive unit 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
