<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device capable of efficiently forming a rich atmosphere in a short time by well mixing a reducer injected from a nozzle of an injector into exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: A NOx storing/reducing catalyst 10 is mounted on the midway of an exhaust pipe 9 for oxidizing NOx in exhaust gas 8, temporarily storing it in the state of nitrate and decomposing and releasing the NOx in the presence of the reducer during the degradation of the concentration of oxygen in the exhaust gas 8. The injector 11 is arranged on the upstream side of the NOx storing/reducing catalyst 10 in the exhaust pipe 9 for adding fuel 13 into the exhaust gas 8. A ceramic coating 12 as a heat insulating structure is applied to a position downstream from the end of the nozzle of the injector 11 but close to the end of the nozzle over a required range in the direction of the axial center of the exhaust pipe 9. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
