摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grooving method and the like for grooving with higher accuracy by directly measuring a groove end position, which is a machining position, to correct a tool position, in the case of machining an axial groove on the outer peripheral surface or inner peripheral surface of a columnar or cylindrical workpiece. SOLUTION: This grooving method comprises steps of: measuring the groove end position (a) of the axial groove Wd rough-machined by a grinding wheel G mounted to a grinding wheel base 20 movable relatively to a spindle 3, in at least two rotating positions of the spindle 3 by a groove measuring touch sensor 34; computing the radius R of the groove end position based on the groove end position (a) in each measured spindle rotating position; computing the correction quantity of the machining position by the grinding wheel G in finishing based on the radius R of the groove end position; and correcting a machining command value by the grinding wheel G based on the computed correction quantity of the machining position.
