PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rechargeable vacuum cleaner where high suction performance and the long service life of a second battery are realized and easiness of use is improved by preventing blowing away of dust on a floor surface. SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner is provided with: an electric blower (not shown in the figure) which generates suction wind; the secondary battery (not shown in the figure) for supplying power to the electric blower; a housing part 19 for housing the secondary battery; and a cover 20 for covering the housing part 19. At least part of the connection part of the housing part 19 and the cover 20 has a nearly airtight part 32. Thus, the high suction performance and the long service life of the second battery are achieved, easiness of use is improved and blowing away of the dust on the floor surface is prevented by preventing intrusion of exhaust or sucked air of the electric blower for cooling the secondary battery from a gap between the cover 20 and the housing part 19.
