Disclosed is a slip sheet (1) which has a base member (2) of sufficient area and strength to operate as a slip sheet. The base member has an upper surface (3) and lower surface (4). The upper surface is formed, shaped, configured or composed of a material such that in use the friction between the upper surface and material placed thereon will be greater than the friction between the lower surface and the surface upon which the slip sheet stands.
