A method of treating a ras-mediated proliferative disorder in a non-human mammal is disclosed, which comprises administering to the proliferating cells in a mammal such as dogs, cats, sheep, goats, cattle, horses, pigs, and other non- human primates, an effective amount of one or more recombinant or immunoprotected reoviruses under conditions which result in substantial lysis of the proliferating cells.
