MAGNETRON CATHODE ASSEMBLY

A magnetron cathode assembly is provided to stop the rotation of an external terminal inserted into a stem insulator without using a jig which causes an increase in manufacturing costs and without improvement of a stem insulator. A magnetron cathode assembly(51) comprises sealing metal plates(57,58) including terminal insertion holes for insertion of front ends(53b,54b) of external terminals(53,54), and lead insertion holes for insertion of front ends of cathode terminal lead wires(23,24); and a stem insulator(29) soldered to the sealing metal plates such that the stem insulator is electrically connect to the external terminals and the cathode terminal lead wires. Each of the external terminals has a non-circular section having a flat surface(61) on at least a certain part of the peripheral surface of the external terminal. A stop edge is arranged in the terminal insertion hole such that the stop edge is engaged with the flat surface and stops the rotation of the external terminal.
