Novel specific crystals of 2-methyl-c-5-{4-[5~methyl-2-(4-methylphenyl)-1,3- oxazol-4-yl]butyl}-1,3~dioxane-r-2-carboxylic acid. The crystals of 2-methyl -c- 5-{4-[5-methyl~2-(4-methylphenyl)-1,3-oxazol-4-yl]butyl}-1,3-dioxane-r- 2~carboxylic acid, in X-ray powder diffractometry, for example, give a spectrum having peaks at least at diffraction angles of 12.4~, 17.1~, and 20.8~. Also provided is a preventive or therapeutic agent for coronary diseases, cerebral infraction, hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, hypertension, or obesity which contains the crystals as an active ingredient .
