PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a heat developing apparatus, in which a heat developable recording material with recording layers in both surfaces is used, the recording layers are not stained by friction, and moreover, proper heat development without density unevenness can be performed. SOLUTION: A conveying means 77 to convey a heat developable recording material 71 comprises a pair of non-permeable endless belts 81, 82 for holding the heat developable recording material 71 between them and belt-driving means 84, 85 to travel the endless belts 81, 82. Heating means 79 to make the endless belts 81, 82 appressed to the heat developable recording material 71 and to heat the heat developable recording material 71 via the endless belts 81, 82 are located within the loops of the endless belts 81, 82, respectively.
