PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely, firmly and easily install a viscoelastic wall to a building. SOLUTION: The viscoelastic wall is constituted by filling a viscoelastic material 5 between these plates by relatively displaceably laminating one inner steel plate 4 between two outer steel plates 3. When installing the viscoelastic wall in the building, an inside joining plate 20 is sandwiched in advance inside an end part of the outer steel plate in a close contact state; an end surface of the outer steel plate is opposed to an end surface of a joining plate 6 fixed in advance to the building; an outside joining plate 21 is respectively installed on both surface sides so as to stride over both the outer steel plate and the joining plate; and the outside joining plate is fastened to both the outer steel plate and the joining plate.
