PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photopolymerization initiator suitable for composite-resin for dental use, stable to light in environment such as indoor light for illumination by fluorescent lamp, a dental light for illumination of the dental cavity, etc., and excellent in workability, while quickly curing by irradiation with a strong light using a photo irradiator for polymerization and imparting a hardened article with excellent physical properties and is excellent in storing at high temperature. SOLUTION: The photopolymerization initiator comprises (A) a triazine-2(1H)-one compound substituted with a trihalomethyl group of e.g. 4, 6-bis(trichloromethyl)-1, 3, 5-triazine-2(1H)-one represented by general formula (1), (In the formula R<SP>1</SP>is H, a hydroxy group or a 1-15C organic group, X is a halogen atom.), (B) anα-diketone such as camphorquinone or the like, and (C) an aromatic amine compound such as N, N-dimethylbenzoic acid ethyl.
