PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film excellent in mechanical properties, having high crystallinity, good in design without causing whitening even if undergoing heat treatment to a temperature near or higher than the melting point of the film in its laminating with a metallic plate, and also low in thermal shrinkage. SOLUTION: The polyester film is made from a polyester resin composition comprising 10-90 wt.% of a polyethylene terephthalate-based resin A and 90-10 wt.% of a crystalline polyester resin B selected from a polybutylene terephthalate-based resin and polytrimethylene terephthalate-based resin. This polyester film has the following properties: the ratio w/h is≤1.30°C/mW, wherein w is the half-width (°C) of a recrystallization peak in descending temperature determined by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and h(mW) is the peak, and the difference between longitudinal and transverse thermal shrinkages is≤1.1% at 150°C for 30 min.
