METHOD FOR INCINERATING SOLID WASTE

Disclosed is a method for incinerating solid waste in a gas-solid reactor, in which the waste is introduced into a rotating fluidized bed having a temperature that ranges between 550 and 750 DEG C, is dried, gassed, and partly incinerated, the incineration products are afterburned at 850 to 930 DEG C in a free space located above the fluidized bed, and a partial flow of the combustion gases are redirected into the fluidized bed. In order to ensure that the chromium (VI) content of the burned residues is lowered to < 1.0 mg/kg of residue, the burned residues are mixed with iron sulfate and/or iron chloride and/or manganese sulfate in the form of a solution that is up to 30 percent aqueous, the iron sulfate and/or iron chloride and/or manganese sulfate being provided at twice to thrice the quantity of the chromium, and the mixture is homogenized at 80 to 200 DEG C.
