Two hinged plates act as a parallelogram linkage lifting the square tabletop up and moving it diagonally. A curved lever (6) is connected to a spring (5) and one of the parallel plates and is situated in one corner of the lower plate. The structure under the top plate incorporates storage spaces for cutlery.
