DIGITAL CABLE RECEIVER

A digital cable receiver is provided to improve performance of a system and reduce a production cost by integrating a part for transmitting and receiving an OOB(Out Of Band) signal and a part for interfacing with a POD(Point Of Deployment) card in a single chip. An OOB transmission part(502) and an OOB reception part(501) transmit and receive a cable head-end and an OOB signal, respectively. A POD interface part(503) provides a function of interface with a POD card and a PCMCIA(Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) card. The first gain amplifier(501a) amplifies the OOB signal from the cable head-end. An A/D(Analog to Digital) converter(501b) converts an analog output signal of the first gain amplifier into a digital signal. An automatic gain controller(501e) controls an amplification value of the first gain amplifier. A demodulator(501c) compensates a channel error and performs an equalizing operation. A differential decoder(501d) encodes a signal decoded in the cable head-end so as to restore an original signal. An amplifier synthesizer(501f) performs down-conversion of a received signal.
