A color cathode ray tube is provided to reduce a landing error by decreasing the contact area between a shadow mask and a frame and increasing the distance between the shadow mask and the frame such that the temperature difference between the center portion and the peripheral portion of a shadow mask is minimized. A color cathode ray tube comprises a panel having an inner surface on which a phosphor screen is formed; a funnel coupled to the panel such that a high vacuum condition is maintained; an electron gun for emitting electron beams; a shadow mask having a plurality of electron beam passing holes; and a frame for supporting the shadow mask, by contacting a skirt portion of the shadow mask. The frame has a welding bead(115-5B) which is formed by projecting the peripheral portion of the section contacting the skirt portion of the shadow mask toward the skirt portion. The welding bead is projected into the height of 0.5 to 30mm.
