An internet access apparatus of a digital television and an Internet access method thereof are provided to make it possible to identify a user without need of a certification process in each web server once user certification is made in case that the internet is used through an interactive digital broadcast receiver. An input part(301) received information desired by a user. A single sign-on server(303) certifies the information inputted via the input part. Each of web servers(304,305) provides a web document based on the information certified by the single sign-on server. A set top box(302) receives web documents from the web servers. A display part(306) outputs the web documents received by the set top box.
