摘要 A method for monitoring an integrated optical signal using a planar waveguide is provided to integrate a monitoring device to have a small size and enhance economic efficiency by lowering a fabrication unit cost. An optical distributor(10) includes a plurality of optical waveguides(11) for transmitting an optical signal. Each optical waveguide(11) includes an optical grid having an index of refraction which changes at regular intervals. The optical grid reflects only a certain amount of an optical signal being transmitted to the optical waveguide(11) and proceeds it in a different direction to the optical signal proceeding direction in order to monitor the optical signal. An light detector(20) is installed at an upper surface of the optical distributor(10) corresponding to each optical waveguide(11), and measures stability of the optical signal such as strength of the optical signal or scattered wavelength by detecting the monitored light reflected from the optical grid. The optical detector(20) is electrically connected with metal wiring(13) patterned on the optical distributor(10) and transmits the detected signal externally.
