A catheter assembly is provided to airtightly store a guide wire and/or a catheter to prevent pollution thereof and to be inserted into the inside of a body in a airtightly closed condition. The catheter assembly includes a catheter(10) comprising a flexible pipe(11) and a hub(12) having a hole communicating with the flexible pipe, a hollow needle(21), a plug(20), a guide wire(23) whose one end is inserted into the hole of the needle, a fixing member(24) fixed on the other end of the guide wire, and a flexible airtight tube(25). One end of the hollow needle is inserted into the flexible pipe through the hole of the hub, and is exposed outside the flexible pipe. One end of the flexible airtight tube(25) is airtightly connected to the plug(20) and the other end of the flexible airtight tube is airtightly connected to the fixing member to airtightly cover the guide wire(23).
