An apparatus and method for treating heat energy of a mobile terminal are provided to reduce power consumption caused by long time call communication by supplying thermally/electrically converted electrical energy as auxiliary power of a mobile terminal. A thermo-electrical converter(290) converts heat energy radiated from a particular element of a mobile terminal into electrical energy. A charging/integrating unit(300) charges the electrical energy. A power supply unit(210) supplies power to each element of the mobile terminal. A temperature sensing unit(280) senses a temperature according to heat radiated from the particular element. A calculating/controlling unit(230) controls supplying of the electrical energy charged in the charging/integrating unit to the power supply unit(210) according to the temperature sensed by the temperature sensing unit(280).
