摘要 An apparatus and a method for processing a defect in an optical recording/reproducing drive are provided to sequentially store low-frequency signals of a TE(Tracking Error) in an FIFO, and to output a low-frequency signal produced prior to a defect when the defect is generated, thereby stably operating an optical recording/reproducing drive. The first HPF(301) filters a sampled TE signal in predetermined high-frequency band, and outputs a high-frequency TE signal. The second LPF(Low Pass Filter)(302) filters the TE signal in predetermined low-frequency band, and outputs a low-frequency TE signal. An FIFO(307) sequentially stores the low-frequency TE signal in every sampling clock. A switching unit(308) switches the low-frequency TE signal outputted from the second LPF(303) or the low-frequency TE signal stored in the FIFO(307). An adder(304) adds the switched low-frequency TE signal to the high-frequency TE signal to output the added signals as a TE signal for a servo operation, or outputs switched low-frequency TE signal only as the TE signal for the servo operation. A controller(309) decides whether a defect is generated, and switches the FIFO(307) to output a low-frequency TE signal stored prior to the sampling clocks.
