A transfer device for transporting parts of a vehicle assembly line is provided to reduce working hours, and to increase the productivity by mounting various kinds of jigs to a head according to the shape of a work piece and moving the jig horizontally, vertically or laterally. A transfer device comprises X and Y-axis frames(2,4) crossing each other and guiding movement of work pieces, horizontal and vertical guide units(20) having a first guide member including a rack gear and a guide inclined at both sides and a second guide member including a guide inclined at both sides and installed to a fixing plate, plural rollers(30,31) rolling along the guide, a horizontal support bracket(3) turning the roller, a vertical support bracket(6) fixed to the horizontal support bracket, a supporting frame(10) supporting the X and Y-axis frames, X and Y-axis driving motors(M1,M2) fixed to the support brackets, a pinion gear(5) installed in the rotating shaft of the driving motor, a Z-axis holder member(7) having a guide in a fixing bracket formed integrally in a base mounted in the lower part of the Y-axis frame, and a head part(8) connected to the Z-axis holder member to change the jig according to the shape of the work piece.
