PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner realizing less toner consumption per one sheet of an image and a long life in a small quantity of the toner, causing neither sleeve negative ghost, splashing nor blotches, and having excellent developing and fixing properties even in a high-speed image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The toner comprising toner particles having at least a binder resin and a colorant, and inorganic fine particles is characterized in that: toner particles having a circle-equivalent diameter of≥3μm and≤400μm of the toner particles measured by a flow type particle image analyzer have an average circularity of≥0.935 and <0.970; the toner particles have an average surface roughness of≥5.0 nm and <35.0 nm measured by a scanning probe microscope; and the binder resin contains at least a vinyl resin having a carboxyl group and a vinyl resin having a linkage as a partial structure formed by the reaction of a carboxyl group with an epoxy group.
