PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breather device having a small suction volume of oil mist, being installed without the need to increase the height and extreme breadth of an internal combustion engine, and allowing the entire internal combustion engine to be compact including accessaries, in a breather device of an internal combustion engine including an oil tank provided within a case from the bottom of a crankcase toward the top of one side of a crankcase, and a dry-sump lubricating device. SOLUTION: A vapor-liquid separation chamber is provided between an oil tank and the top end of a crankcase. Alternatively, there is further provided an additional case including an internal cavity with larger capacity situated adjacent to the top of the vapor-liquid separation chamber and communicating with the vapor-liquid separation chamber via a small aperture.
