The invention comprises compositions of a biologically active substance and an aminopolyamide containing 1-4.2 weight % of ammo-nitrogen, 83-87.5% of "hydrocarbon" and the balance of amide, the "hydrocarbon" including the hydrogen atoms on the amine and amide groups and any heteroatoms which may be resent in "hydrocarbon groups. The aminopolyamide are generally prepared from a polyamine and a polycanboxylic acid, optionally in the resence of monoamides and monocarboxylic acids. A large number of those reactants are specified including the following: polymerized linoleic acid and polymerized rosin as polycarboxylic acids, diethylene triamine as polyamine and oleic acid as monocarboxylic acid. In Examples aminopolyamides of these reactants are compounded with provaine penicillin G (1, 3, 9) the calcium salt of the hydroxy analogue of methionine (with the amino group replaced by hydroxyl) (2) oxytetracycline quaternary ammonium salt (4), soyabean meal (5, 8), a mixture of amylase, protease, hemicellulose and cellulose roughage (6), a mixture of amylase with calcium metasilicate, talc, clay or magnesium oxide (7) and sulphamethazine (12). In examples 11 and 12 procaine penicillin G and sulphamethiazine enclosed in polyamide were added to an animal feed comprising ground corn, soyabean meal, deflorinated phosphate rock, trace minerals, molasses, alfalfa, and vitamins A and D. |
