PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and surely generate the discharge of a plasma display panel, and to improve the luminance thereof. SOLUTION: The capacity of a discharge space and a discharge sustaining electrode of the discharge sustaining electrode with both its sides interposed by other discharge sustaining electrodes in a discharge cell out of the three or more discharge sustaining electrodes installed in the discharge cell is smaller than that of the other part on a center axis. Thereby, since wall charge is divided, a plurality of discharge phenomena are surely and stably generated in the discharge cell, whereby the luminance of this plasma display panel is improved.
