METHOD FOR SCREENING DEMETHYLATING AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system which can detect a demethylating agent in high sensitivity on the basis of an action closer to an action in an intracellular original state.

SOLUTION: This endogenous HCT 116 cell strain into whose chromosome a reporter gene is integrated so that the reporter gene is expressed under the control of the promoter of FLJ32130 gene or the homologous promoter of RIKEN 2210015F16 gene. The method for screening the demethylating agent includes making a candidate substance to act on the HCT 116 cell strain, detecting the change in the expression of the reporter gene due to the candidate substance, and selecting the candidate substance capable of reducing the expression.
