PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly stop falling of an elevating base. SOLUTION: In this falling preventive device of the elevating base, when a toothed belt 4 loosens or is cut off, a cam 14 is elevated, and toggle levers 16 are rotated. In this device, brake levers 21 are rotated by rotation of the toggle levers 16, and falling preventive pieces 28 are caught between guide rollers 8 and guide rails 2 and act as wedges, thus preventing falling of the elevating base.
