PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a check valve provided close to a terminal end of a supply water passage from being exposed to high-temperature boiler water so as to improve durability of the check valve. SOLUTION: This boiler is provided with a boiler body part 1 to generate steam by heating water, a vapor-liquid separator 2 to separate steam taken from the boiler body part 1 into liquid, a return water tube 3 to return liquid separated by the vapor-liquid separator 2 to the boiler body, and the supply water passage 4 connected to the return water tube 3 to supply water to the boiler body part through the return water tube 3. The check valve 5 is provided close to the terminal end of the supply water passage. U-shaped piping 6 is provided between the check valve 5 and the return water tube 3 to pass below the height position of the check valve and below the height position of a connection part of the supply water passage to the return water tube.
