PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hob by which the suppression of chipping can be realized without significantly increasing a cutting load to be applied to individual teeth by preventing the development of heat cracks. SOLUTION: At least the tooth tip side part of a partial tooth face cutting blade 19 is moved rearward to at least the tooth tip side part of the remaining tooth face cutting blade 19 and relieved so as not to be involved in cutting in the tooth face cutting blade 19 or one side on both sides of a plurality of teeth 11 constituting a tooth trace. The tooth face cutting blade 19 is so constituted that the partial tooth face cutting blade 19 is arranged at intervals of a prescribed number on the tooth trace. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
