PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of adding metal ions with an antibacterial action to water at a target concentration despite of a water quality and a water temperature. SOLUTION: This washing machine is so constituted that a voltage is intermittently impressed to a pair of metal electrodes to elute the metal ions from one electrode A and the other electrode B alternately. This washing machine detects the water quality and the water temperature from the impressed voltage necessary for passing a predetermined current and adjusts the elusion quantity of the metal ions by changing the current passing between the electrodes, elusion time T4 of the metal ions, the voltage impressed time T2, or a voltage impressing suspension time T3 according to the detection result.
