Double light bulb socket for different types of light bulb having a main socket and a sleeve adaptor with an additional socket for connection to the main socket

The bulb socket has a base part (1) which has a contact (4) for cooperating with the central contact (5) of the bulb and a contact (7) for cooperating with the contact of an adapter sleeve (2). The sleeve is fastened e.g. screwed onto the base part and has a contact for cooperating with a light bulb. The sleeve (2) is made of two stages - a first larger diameter stage and a second smaller diameter stage. It has concentric contacts for a normal bulb and a small bulb arranged in different stages of the sleeve. The second smaller diameter stage is about half the height of the sleeve. The contact which cooperates with the central contact of a light bulb is about half the height of the sleeve when fastened. The sleeve has an additional contact in the smaller diameter stage. This is electrically connected to the contact for a standard bulb.
