Machine for removing the oxide layer from the edge of metal strip or sheet which has been cut using a laser has endless belts (2), on which brushes (3) are mounted. These follow a linear path in the area where they contact the workpiece. Independent claims are included for: (a) a cog belt for use in the machine; and (b) a method for removing the oxide layer from the edge of metal strip or sheet which has been cut using a laser, in which the machine is used.
