Carboxylic acid halides are used as co-catalysts in a method for the production of polyoxymethylenes (POM) by polymerisation of monomers (a) in presence of catalytic initiators (b), co-catalysts (c) and optionally regulators (d), followed by isolation of the polymer (optionally after deactivation).
