The container has a plastic drinking closure (2) in a circular aperture (10) in one end wall (7). This consists of a socket (5) sealed in the aperture, and a cover (6). A cylindrical sleeve (11) is formed on the edge of the aperture, and the socket has a cylindrical extension sleeve (12) with compatible diameter. The sleeve extension is fitted into the sleeve and glued resp. sealed to it. The socket is a screw plug with screwed cover, and is hermetically sealed by a foil (15), which is applied before the cover.
